Snow Brush with Ice Scraper

A clean plastic blade is very unlikely to scratch your windshield, and a clean, soft brush is generally safe for paint if you use it gently. Scratches almost always come from grit trapped in the bristles or a nicked blade, not from the tool itself. Push snow off the surface rather than scrubbing it, never use the blade on paint, and replace any scraper whose edge is chipped.

A long handle lets you reach the middle of the windshield and the far side of the roof without leaning against a wet, salty car. It’s especially useful on SUVs, trucks, and vans, where the roof and glass are hard to reach. The brush clears loose snow first, and the blade handles the ice, so you only need one tool for the whole job.

Shake off snow, wipe the blade dry, and store the scraper somewhere it won’t get crushed, such as along a seat or cargo area or in the garage. Every so often, rinse the brush to remove salt and grit, and check the blade edge for nicks. If the blade is damaged or the bristles are bent and stiff, replace the scraper rather than risk scratching your glass.
